Job Description:

Primary responsibilities include:

Provide HP-UX consulting on projects and service requests.

Provide overall support for the HP-UX and LINUX operating systems.

Follow Change Management procedures for implementing all changes.

Develop procedures, documentation and tools for support areas.

Provide direction regarding HP-UNIX

Research operating system (O/S) changes and fixes.

Develop various procedures, documentation, and tools.

Work with vendors to implement products or stay abreast of upcoming changes to hardware or O/S changes.

Unix environment administrative development.

Off hours work may be required for project implementations and upgrades.

Keeping abreast of infrastructure industry trends/best practices for use in strategic and/or tactical planning.

Use of expert knowledge to resolve highly complex or escalated infrastructure problems.

Technical Analyst (HP-UX Team) job description:

Responsible for exercising judgment and making decisions with respect to matters of moderate to high complexity and importance

Assists in component/project planning, as requested

Participates in and/or leads vendor product review, evaluations, demonstrations, proofs of concept and implementations, as required

Conducts architecture reviews to ensure infrastructure issues are appropriately addressed, as required

Coordinates infrastructure-related activities, as required

Recognizes the need for and develops or modifies infrastructures policies, guidelines, standards, procedures and documentation

Provides infrastructure solutions and/or defect resolution

Develops and provides training on various infrastructure topics to Technical Analysts and others

Utilizes an in-depth/specialized knowledge of at least one infrastructure technology

Utilizes broad-based knowledge of infrastructure technologies

Works independently on matters of moderate to high complexity with only broad direction Navigates Systems? structure and processes

Operating Systems Analyst

Operating Systems - HP-UX

Client/Server Computing

Systems Architecture

Knowledge of HP-UX Operating System

HP-UX commands

HP-UX system administration

POSIX shell scripting

Knowledge of HP9000 hardware offerings

Must have ?hands on? UNIX skills ? logon to UNIX system to do problem resolution using logs and traces.

Possesses technical knowledge of HP-UX and LINUX Operating System enabling ability to resolve and troubleshoot problems that may occur.

HPUX Certified System Administrator would be nice.
