Technical Engineer

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

 

? Deploy and manage on-site and virtual environments containing enterprise-wide infrastructure application servers

? Deploy, maintain, document and help IT administrators use an application management system within a world-wide large corporate environment

? Investigate and resolve incoming questions (phone and e-mail) and issues in a timely and effective manner

? Document all contact activity, including troubleshooting steps and problem resolution, in the CRM (call management system)

? Includes hardware, software (infrastructure and end-users?), documentation, updating web sites and some after-hours support

? Other duties as assigned.

? This job requires extensive travel

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS

 

? Knowledge of an application management system (e.g. NetIQ) deploy, configure, use, maintain; support of infrastructure and users

? High degree of Windows 2000/2003 server knowledge ? build, administer, diagnose

? Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, WINS,  COM+, firewalls, and troubleshooting communication/connectivity issues involving such

? Working knowledge of AD, IIS, MS SQL Server, Exchange 2000, SMS ? components; build, administer

? Experience working with infrastructure components in a multi-domain environment

? Medium level of knowledge of Windows 2000/2003 server security; understanding of the meaning and security implications of Windows 2000/2003 events and configuration settings; able to clearly articulate such to others

? Webmaster skills : architect, build, maintain according to internal standards

? MCSE; CISSP desired

? VMWare or MS Virtual Server: architect, build, troubleshoot, maintain

? Knowledge of IT security from a corporate enterprise perspective
