Technical Writer Location:Washington, D.C. Duration: Fulltime Only US Citizens. "Preference to Active DOD Cleared candidates"
JOB DESCRIPTION/QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate selected for this position will directly support the Office of Human Resource Management (HRM) for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).  Roles and Responsibilities: ? Candidate shall provide support that includes the following:  Prepare development team documentation following a Systems Development Lifecycle Methodology (SDLC)  Create Operations and Maintenance Manuals and Program and Database Design documentation for each developed software application system, following documented procedures and standards previously defined in each delivery order  Receive documents or document input from various development team members, which may have to be merged or edited, and may need to clarify or enhance the material  Demonstrate the ability to work independently or under general direction  Maintain the development team?s project documentation library and support quality assurance review of the project?s documentation (work products) and artifacts Education and Experience:  ? Candidate shall possess, at a minimum, the following qualifications:  Excellent/superior oral and writing skills  An Associates Degree in related field (a Bachelors Degree is preferred)  Minimum of five years experience in this area  At least two years experience in editing documents, including technical documents Candidates selected will be subject to a CBP Background Investigation (BI) and must meet U.S. Citizenship eligibility requirements.
