JOB SUMMARY:

Maintain critical systems to ensure reliability and optimization of computing environment for the business and its customers.

JOBS MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Functions:

' Researches, recommends and implements changes to production and corporate systems, servers, workstations, etc.

' Ensures stability and performance of all servers and key applications.

' Performs pro-active capacity planning, including short term and long-term trend analysis.

' Performs software management

' Tunes systems for optimal performance including troubleshooting on system performance and hardware/operating system failures to ensure support of high reliability, requisite speed, redundancy and load balancing.

' Engineers and administers the production and corporate systems, domains, email system, data backup systems, security systems, etc.

' Performs various upgrades.

' Maintains inventory system pertaining to software licensing, hardware and equipment, disaster recovery procedures, systems troubleshooting and problem resolution

' Other duties as assigned

POSITION SUMMARY:

Maintains UNIX system to ensure reliable computing platforms to support and optimize Concentra Information Technology environment and its customers productivity.

POSITION MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

' Develops, implements and follows industry standards of system administration techniques and procedures.

' Maintains and supports existing Anti-Virus program and institutes enterprise wide virus protection for corporate data center and remote locations.

' Participates in the development, migration, and maintenance the corporate computing Architecture

' Participates in the planning, building, upgrading, and maintenance of network servers

' Understands and works with change management, fault management procedures.

' Assists operations staff in the use and day-to-day management of systems and related periphery equipment.

' Participates in 24x7 support and on-call rotation.

' Performs capacity planning analysis across computing platforms and disk subsystems.

' Provides detailed documentation of all implementations, changes, and solutions.

' Provides technical leadership to other teams and provides advanced support for operations and end-users.

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:

' Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience to acquire the skills and knowledge usually acquired through education.

' Appropriate certifications

' Solaris certifications a plus

JOB RELAVENT EXPERIENCE:

' 5 or more years directly applicable systems administration experience

' At least four years experience in the design and management of mission-critical systems in a multi-vendor environment

JOB RELATED/POSITION RELATED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

' Experience with major operating systems upgrades and migrations

' Experience with platform migrations

' Experience with managing and supporting remote systems

' Experience with Sun Solaris operating systems and Veritas foundation suite with file journaling and file systems management

' Experience with HP UX operating systems and administration

' Experience with EMC Symmetrix and Clarion FC4700 disk subsystems

' Experience with NAS and SAN implementations as well as demonstrate proficiency with Powerpath, Navisphere, Work load analyzer, Storage Scope, and Timefinder.

' Experience with DNS and NIS

' Experience with Legato Networker and enterprise level backup administration

' Strong Troubleshooting skills and experience working with enterprise systems management tools.

' Extensive experience with Solaris 2x

' Experience with Sun Hardware

' Extensive knowledge of Storage Management Systems and Solutions

' Extensive knowledge of Backup Systems

' Experience with Linux

' Excellent written and oral communications skills.

' Good Customer Support Skills

' Well Organized

' Production Support Oriented

' Able to work with a Well-Defined Change Request Process
