Job Description:

BEA WebLogic Server Administrator will work on a variety of projects and lead initiatives while supporting other team members.  As part of the team, this individual will work with administering J2EE, Integration and Portal applications in the WebLogic 8.1 Platform environment. He or she will help lead and participate in the administering, development, implementation and support of business and/or technical information technology solutions encompassing multiple specializations that are deployed on variety of platforms using wide spectrum of technologies.

 

Job Duties:

? Install, configure, monitor, and tune BEA Weblogic Server v 8.1.x through scripts and the administration console on Linux and Sun Solaris Platforms. 

? Create, configure and monitor WebLogic Server Domains; Create and configure Managed and Admin Servers

? Create, configure and monitor clusters

? Create, maintain, configure and tune services such as JDBC Data Sources and Connection Pools; JMS Servers and Queues; Security, LDAP and Identity server and others

? Install of upgrades and patches

? Work closely with the Unix, Networking and Development groups

? Support developers by deploying application into test and production

? Monitor, tune and perform capacity planning of the production servers

?Administer Web Servers such as Apache and iPlanet
  Provide timely and accurate on-call support

 Required Skills:

Candidate must possess the following core competencies:
At least 3 years administering BEA WebLogic Server environment.
At least 3 years experience with BEA WebLogic Platform 8.1 specifically Workshop, Server and Portal.
3 to 5 years experience as Administrator using RedHat Enterprise Linux, UNIX, Korn Shell with WebLogic.
Must have strong Perl or Unix Shell Scripting skills and strong Unix Operating System knowledge
Strong Performance Management/Monitoring, Memory Management/Monitoring skills
General understanding of hardware, operating systems and network technologies
Good interpersonal, communication and documentation skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills

 Desirable Skills:

Exposure to the following is a plus:
Experience integrating Content Management Systems (CMS) with BEA Portal. Experience with Fatwire (CMS) is a plus.
Experience with Oracle 9.x and 10.x, Sybase or other relational databases.
Experience Administering WebLogic Portals.
Experience Administering BEA WebLogic Integrator 8.1.
Experience with Java programming.
Experience with Ant.
