Opticomm is an established Fiber Optic Communications firm in Sorrento Valley building high-end video, audio, and optical communication systems for the broadcast, security/surveillance and other industries.

Opticomm is seeking a Digital Software (Real Time, Embedded) and Hardware Design Engineer for Video/Audio/Voice/Data Fiber Optic Communication Systems.

 

Responsibilities Design and Development of Board-level embedded circuitry. Ability to code software program/subroutine using Verilog logic Perform testing with FPGA Xilinx and Tektronics equipment Debugging and perform system simulation on board Write good comprehensive documentation for R&D Prepare proper related files for QA and production Enable to perform Alfa testing in house. Provide full support and assistance to customer as required Good Communication oral and writing skill

Requirements 2-5 years of Verilog in a real time environment. Intensive experience with Xilinx components, tools and simulations using ModelSim. Real time C for Micro Controllers such as Rabbit and Renesas  8/16bit. Familiarity with Ethernet protocols Experience in preparing Engineering Records and Documentation Background in the ASIC design industry is a plus. Good team member in all R&D work related Well organized in presentation and clear in discussion.

Desired Qualifications: Very Organized. Must have at least BSEE and academic work relation
