Engineering Fellow

Job Description: The Senior Cryptographer will lead the development of embedded and networked security solutions for Raytheon defense products, including the design and implementation of cryptographic algorithms, protocols, and architectures; development of key management plans; and performing cryptosystem vulnerability assessments and testing. The individual will be responsible for overseeing secure system documentation products such as security subsystem specifications, interface descriptions, key handling procedures, and vulnerability assessments.

The Senior Cryptographer will work closely with program management to plan and manage activities and with security, system, software, and hardware engineers during design development. The individual will be responsible for developing the depth of this specialized engineering expertise within SAS and assists the ITP organization in increasing awareness on the need for system integrity protection for Raytheon products. The Senior Cryptographer will be required to brief senior management, DoD customers, U.S. Government agencies, and peer groups on security related topics. The Sr. Cryptographer will exhibit an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity and be responsible for developing highly advanced security integrity concepts that will advance Raytheon?s position as a leader in this technology.



Required Skills: Candidates should have at least 12 years of experience in the field of cryptography, including familiarity with industry standard information security algorithms and protocols and have the ability to use this familiarity to develop customized cryptography solutions. Candidates should be knowledgeable of attacks on or reverse engineering of cryptographic implementations. Must be able to supervise junior members of the staff and have strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Previous experience working with DoD customers and/or U.S. security agencies is desired. The candidate must be nationally recognized as a subject matter expert in the field of Cryptography and credited with patents, inventions, publications, and/or technical achievements within the field.

Required Education (including Major): MS in Mathematics. A PhD in mathematics is preferred.

Other Requirement: US citizenship with a current Top Secret clearance is required.
