Facilities Technician

 

Fry, Inc. is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Facilities Technician with strong verbal and written communication skills. This individual should be a leader and a team player.

 

Responsibilities:

?  Rack space utilization tracking, maintenance, reporting, and capacity planning

?  Power utilization tracking, maintenance, reporting, and capacity planning

?  UPS utilization tracking, maintenance, reporting, and capacity planning

?  Generator utilization tracking, maintenance, reporting, and capacity planning

?  HVAC utilization tracking, maintenance, reporting, and capacity planning

?  Fire system utilization tracking, maintenance, reporting, and capacity planning

?  KVM deployment, management, maintenance, reporting, and capacity planning

?  Physical security system deployment, management, maintenance, reporting, and capacity planning

?  Physical network circuit and cross-connect provisioning, cabling, maintenance, and reporting

?  Rack and cabling standards development, deployment, and enforcement

?  Maintain rack-level network diagrams

?  Hardware receiving and RMA processing

?  Hardware inventory tracking and reporting (including Hosting Inventory)

?  Software inventory tracking and reporting (including Microsoft ASP)

?  Manage facility and hardware support contracts

?  Hardware and software purchasing support, deployment, and shipping coordination

?  Develop Opsware support for new hardware

?  Responsible for data center access controls and tours

?  Investigate new hardware/software technologies to improve data center management

?  Investigate new hardware technologies to improve rack space, power, and HVAC utilization

?  Recommend ways to streamline the hardware deployment process

?  On call support for physical security, facility, and hardware support issues

 

Required Skills:

?  Must have a good understanding of electrical systems and capacity planning

?  Must have a good understanding of HVAC technologies and capacity planning

?  Must have an excellent understanding of network and server hardware

?  Strong organizational, documentation, project management, and communications skills

?  Ability to manage time between multiple projects and duties

?  Independent problem-solving, and self-direction

?  Ten or more years of network administration experience
