Security Operations Manager - Mountain View

This position is based in Mountain View, CA.

Applicants must have experience managing medium-sized teams and a proven track record of technical excellence. We are looking specifically for leaders to revolutionize the way Google (and potentially the world) looks at information security. This job requires hands on work with both software developers and operations engineers.

Responsibilities:

Create strategy around security and incident detection.
Guide engineers that evaluate, build and implement scalable solutions to solve our problems.
Manage a global team of engineers dedicated to keeping Google and our customers safe.
Lead the team responsible for monitoring our network and systems for incidents.
Spread your enthusiasm for good security practice and policy to Googlers around the world.

Requirements:

BS in Computer Science or technical area required (MS or PhD preferred) CISSP not required.
3+ years managing security operational teams of at least six people.
Excellent organizational skills. Strong project management skills preferred.
Experience managing software development lifecycles preferred.
Strong understanding of network and systems security issues.
Hands on experience with IDS technology and log management systems.
Must have worked as an engineer on security issues.
