Position: HW Engineering Technician

 

Responsibility: Exciting opportunity to participate in development of new technology in 10Gbit/s Ethernet over copper wiring using the IEEE 802.3an standard.  Work in the R&D Engineering group to support the design and development of reference designs and test boards for Teranetics IC?s used in 10Gbit/s Ethernet applications.  Activities will include engineering lab coordination, parts procurement and pcb assembly, prototype test and validation, pcb rework, test equipment procurement and maintenance and support of general engineering activities. 

 

Requirements: AA with 8+ years experience as a Technician in an Engineering Lab environment.  Experience in HW development is required.  The ideal candidate would be able to to understand digital as well as analog circuits.  Experience using lab test equipment like Digital Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzer, Logic Analyzers is required.   Ability to rework fine pitch SMT components under a microscope is required.  Knowledge or experience with communications protocols, frequency domain and network analysis, microprocessor interfaces, PCI bus interfaces, Flash and DRAM/SDRAM memory arrays would be applicable.  Candidate must have good interpersonal communication skills, be a self-starter, and a good team player.
