Hardware/Software Technical Writer

My client is seeking a Hardware/Software Technical Writer  with 3-4 years experience. The following responsibilites apply:

 

Technical:
FrameMaker, SGML, Epic Editor, or other SGML based authoring tool.

 

General (applies to all skills):

? Ability to work independently or as part of a team
? Available Monday through Friday, 1st shift
? Excellent communication skills
? Adaptable and willing to learn new methods and acquire new skills
? Reliable and willing to take ownership of assignments
? No issues in taking direction from other contractors who have been in the position longer
? Takes pride in work, but able to take constructive criticism
? Able to manage multiple projects at the same time

 

REQUIRED SKILLS
? Heavy technical writing experience, preferably in documenting computer hardware
? Prior experience using FrameMaker+SGML, Epic Editor, or other SGML-based authoring tool
? Copy editing experience and a strong command of the English language
? Takes the initiative to validate what he or she has written through hands-on testing.

 

Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

 

Location: Research Triangle Park, NC
Length: 1 year contract with probable extensions
