Projects software and hardware requirements in conjunction with other IT Managers. Ensures effective coordination and technical support between programmers, developers, testers, interfacing system groups, and end-users. Oversees the analysis and evaluation of current or proposed technology-related solutions that address business problems. Ensures adherence to quality standards. Evaluates and implements methods to maximize group efficiency. Prepares activity and progress reports regarding group or project status. Provides input for process standards, and ensures proper processes are in place to guide the consistent documentation and delivery of end user needs. Consistently demonstrates knowledge of managerial concepts, practices, and procedures through the leadership of programming, testing, or hardware resources. Works effectively with several levels of management by independently solving problems and making decisions. Knows when to involve the appropriate management levels on more complex issues.
Bachelor's Degree in an IT discipline, which could include Computer Science or MIS, or in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, at least 4 years of experience in a professional IT-related role.

At least 8-10 years of related work experience in IT, which should include successful experience leading or managing a team of technical resources.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with others, including senior management.

Proven organizational and planning skills.

Demonstrated analytical and problem solving abilities.

Experience coaching and/or mentoring others for improved performance and career success, which includes the ability to take proactive actions to address issues that may impact team performance.

The ETG Application Engineering organization is seeking an experienced IT Manager with proven leadership, relationship building, and talent development skills to help build the Operational Services Framework team. This team of senior technical individuals is responsible for driving non-functional requirements and solutions into new major application development projects to ensure the delivery of operationally sound IT applications. Additionally, this manager will lead the team to refine and enhance the Progressive Operational Framework (POF) and Production Certification processes.

Specifically, this manager will create an engagement model for the OFS team outlining when and how the team is engaged. This manager will also work with application development managers responsible for major projects to clearly define roles, responsibilities, and deliverables for members of the OFS team. In addition, this position requires effective working relationships with other ETG managers to ensure that requirements are clearly communicated and solutions are built to meet those requirements.

This is a highly visible position interfacing with many ETG and Application Development areas. This is an opportunity to build a team, develop senior level talent, and build relationships with managers from many different areas of the IT organization. This is also an opportunity to gain a broad understanding of the infrastructure technologies and the major application development efforts within Progressive.
