ettain group has an immediate opportunity for an experienced?LAN/WAN Administrator who?will be working as a Jr.-Mid. Level resource to a team of Administrators/Engineers responsible for maintaining network health for a mid-sized financial institution based in Fairfax County, VA.

Below is a list of responsibilities.

*Maintains Microsoft, Novell, and Unix based systems and Cisco /Nortel/F5 LAN/WAN Network computing environments.??

*Works with vendors, developers, and engineers to plan, coordinate and perform implementation, configuration, traffic analysis, and network integration for multiple operating system platforms, routers, firewalls and network management systems.??

*Implements hardware, network devices and application system installations, upgrades, and replacements for entire network.

*Examines and evaluates hardware/software configurations to determine if the?configurations meet vendor and corporate standards.

*Assist project managers with Internet/Intranet and corporate infrastructure design.

*Recommend best practices, policies and procedures to maintain computer security and reliability.??

*Conducts training of junior Network Administrators to come up to the target level.

*Provides technical support to the credit union.??

*Identifies and creates applicable standards and procedures.

*Determines scope and resources necessary for problem resolution.

*Coordinates efforts with the Information Center, Help Center, Technical Services Division, Programmer Analysts, hardware/software vendors in resolving problems.??

*Maintains test environment; assists developers with all phases of development cycle and implementation.??

*Provides advance support to other technical teams to resolve complex system and networking issues.??

*Constructs, configures and is responsible for all new systems implementations and integration efforts.??

*Researches new technologies for use within existing infrastructure to improve ability or performance.

*Ensures automated systems and network availability by: performing automated systems monitoring and analysis, performance tuning; troubleshooting system hardware, software, networks, and operating or systems management systems; escalating application problems to vendors/developers.??

*Develops system access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; establishes and tests Business Recovery policies and procedures; completes backups; and maintaining system and network documentation.??

*Uses protocol analyzer and network management tools to monitor system and LAN/WAN Network performance and diagnose resolve |problems.

*Prepares technical and non-technical reports, such as drawings and charts, and maintains documentation.??

*Presents oral and written reports on systems installations, performance results and configuration changes.??

*Recommends application policy, procedures, and standards.

*Performs other duties as assigned or appropriate.
