Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client located in DuPont, WA, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a 6-month contract position. 



Project description:

? Support for mechanical design and validation

 

Daily responsibilities:

? Work with DSD technical design lead to facilitate mechanical concepts through design phase

? Calculate, analyze, and prepare advanced engineering data necessary for machine design and mechanical designs including:

o  Chassis structural design

o  Small plastic and sheet metal mechanisms

o  Actuators, levers and moving parts, e/m (electro-mechanical)

o  Packaging

o  Sheet metal designs, plastic injection molds, molded plastic parts, and die casting design

 

Candidates must have the following experience and skills:

? Knowledge and experience in the general discipline of "electronic packaging" which includes PC board design, metal and plastic part /assembly and design for manufacturability/serviceability

? Ability to understand and follow guidance from the structural and thermal analysts as well as the tech lead

? Design tools are primarily Pro/Engineer at the expert level
