Permanent Position For Microsoft Network Support Engineer

 

Sullivan Data Management, a 16 year old full service IT outsourcing company located in Westchester County in lower New York State, has a permanent position opening for a Microsoft Certified Network Support Engineer (MCSE) with 7 plus years experience installing and supporting Microsoft Technologies in medium sized (25 to 250 user) LAN and WAN environments.  

 

Sullivan Data specializes in providing network design, integration and IT outsourcing services to our client companies comprised of local municipal governments, not for profit organizations and general business companies in lower NYS. Sullivan Data is a Microsoft Certified Partner (6 years) and a Hewlett Packard Certified Support Provider (11 Years). Our company and our client organizations are SMB (small / medium business), requiring someone who is experienced and comfortable working in the conditions presented by same.

 

You will be working with a team of 4 other engineers / technicians supporting and maintaining our client?s users and network environments.

 

We are looking for a candidate who currently resides in our area of operation, which is Westchester, Putnam, Duchess, Orange and Rockland Counties in lower New York State. This position does not provide for candidate relocation services.

Position Requirements

To be considered for this position you must have current Windows 2003 or 2000 MCSE certification and have a proven background of at least 7 years installing and supporting Microsoft Server, Networking and E-Mail technologies. The successful candidate should be thoroughly experienced in the following products and technologies:

 Microsoft Windows Server 2000, 2003, Active Directory and Group Policy. Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 and 2003. Microsoft Internet Information Server. Backup Exec and ArcServe backup software. Symantec and Trend Micro anti-virus software. TCP/IP networking including subnetting, routing, NAT, DNS, DHCP and WINS. SMTP and POP e-mail systems and standards. Server hardware including SCSI, Raid and Current Tape Systems. Network Printing including HP JetDirect products. Desktop operating systems including Windows 98, NT, 2000 and XP. 

 

Candidates Should Also Have: Configured and deployed Internet and WAN connectivity using ADSL, SDSL, CABLE, and T1.Configured and deployed NetScreen or Cisco hardware firewall devices.Configured and deployed Hewlett Packard or Cisco Switches.  Strong knowledge of Internet email (smtp, mx records, etc ). Experience installing and troubleshooting SCSI hardware. Experience installing / rebuilding servers and workstations. Excellent analytical and verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working in multi-client outsourced support environments. Experience working in small company environments.
