NPI Test Engineer

 

This operations team member will help support a large engineering development project.  The focus of this senior, new product test engineering role is highly technical and requires collaboration with hardware and software design teams at early stages to assure new products are designed for manufacturing test.  In addition, this team member will architect and develop the manufacturing test solutions that will be deployed in remote, outsourced manufacturing sites.

 

The position requires the following general background:

 

Strong fundamental background in both hardware and software as well as strong practical experience developing manufacturing test processes, developing JTAG/boundary scan tests, writing test applications, and developing automation solutions for networking products. Candidates should have relevant experience in electronics, JTAG/boundary scan, C/C++, and typical scripting languages. 

 

Track record serving in a lead test engineer role responsible for development of test solutions for complex circuit board assemblies including ASIC?s. The person in this role must have the technical leadership expertise to work independently with a design team to assess and define DFT requirements and then to architect and develop a manufacturing test solution. 

 

Excellent collaborative skills are required.

 

Detailed Job requirements:

 

Play a key role in helping the design team implement JTAG and boundary scan on new designs. Implement boundary scan testing in the lab and then transfer to outsource partners.

 

Document design-for-test requirements for both hardware and software to address hardware testability features as well as diagnostic or other software requirements. Document detailed test process requirements in a manufacturing test plan that provides appropriate test coverage.  Write specifications and procedures for test solutions as required. 

 

Write manufacturing test applications using C/C++ and other common script languages to automate functional/system tests, environmental tests, and ORT (On-going Reliability Test).

 

Build and debug test station equipment and software.

 

Debug development and pilot unit hardware.

 

Collaborate with other test engineers at Juniper to leverage test process expertise, tools, software, and equipment that may already be available.  Leverage outsource partner test development capabilities including ICT.

 

Provide guidance to manufacturing test engineers and technicians at outsourced manufacturing partners during test process deployment.

 

Other Requirements:

 

Requires a BSEE/CS and at least 8 years of experience developing manufacturing test solutions.  Must have both hardware and software experience.

 

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Should be a highly motivated self-starter who thrives in a collaborative development environment.
