STAFF ENGINEER, DRAM SPECIALIST

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented DRAM specialist to join Sun's experienced, high-energy Memory Technology Group. We value integrity, accountability and flexibility. We rely on effective communication along with teamwork and collaboration to produce the most competitive results.
This candidate will work on FBDIMM characterization and validation for various system platforms. She/he will work closely with system development team and colleagues within the Memory Technology Group.
Vendor interface with DRAM producers and AMB vendors is critical for this job function.
Hands-on work to develop hardware and software to validate FBDIMM will be required to make the validation task successful. Innovation and technical leadership in pursuit of practical solution is essential for this job.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* FBDIMM characterization with bench test equipment
* AMB power measurement and vendor management
* AMB/FBDIMM interoperability testing
* FBDIMM trace analysis development utilizing SUN systems

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
* Good presentation skills
* Hardware development of bench test fixtures

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
* FBDIMM testing development
* DRAM application and testing
* Familiarity with High speed Digital scopes and Logic analyzers
* Unix, C/C++, scripting for testing software development

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE:
* DRAM operation theory
* Memory testing algorithm
* Memory system architecture
* High speed Signal integrity

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 7-10

MINIMUM LEVEL OF EDUCATION: BS, MS preferred

FIELD OF STUDY: EE, Computer Engineering, Physics
