SW ENGINEERING MGR

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Manage local team of TCK Developers and Quality Assurance Engineers
* Participate in project P-teams and cross-organizational teams
* Assist remote managers as need in regards to integration and communication with local SCA teams
* Participate in shared conformance efforts between JCK, JavaME, and JavaCard
* Drive customer and partner communication
* Define priorities and task assignment related to multiple tasks within a projects
* Provide team member's performance reviews, hiring, project planning, coaching, career development

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
* Manage partner relationships; customer relationships

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
* BS/MS in CS or equivalent.
* 8+ years software development experience with understanding of product life cycle (from requirements to testing and release)
* 4+ years management experience or senior technical lead
* Experience in managing/leading global teams
* Knowledge of software development/quality methodologies
* Self-motivated and pro-active with demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills
* Ability to collaborate well with cross functional groups and has a pragmatic results-driven approach
* Strong written and verbal communications

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE:
* Proven track record in managing/leading software project and teams
* Strong background in software development
* Working knowledge of Java and specifically JavaME and/or JavaCard


YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 8

MINIMUM LEVEL OF EDUCATION: BS/BA
