Senior Architect

The Senior Architect provides critical technical guidance and leadership within the Effects/Battle Management Systems Business Area in Fort Wayne, as well as to critical NCS programs/campaigns supported by the Enterprise Net-centric Integration Capabilities (ENIC) group as required. This position is essential to the growth objectives and goals of NCS. This includes key strategic capture opportunities, program definition, development of system architecture on key NCS programs, as well as critical architecture support on Enterprise Campaign efforts. The Senior Architect will take the lead in conceptualizing the architectures that draw from capabilities across Raytheon and the industry to meet a critical customer needs. This position reports to the Fort Wayne Systems Engineering Center Manager. This position would also be a part-time member of the Fort Wayne Virtual Technical Staff (VTS) reporting to the Regional Technical Director.

Responsibilities include:

Evaluating and developing primarily command & control (C2) system architectures.Duties will include analysis, trade studies, architecture development, development of concepts of operation, requirements definition, allocation, and management. Will be required to support development and maturation of end-to-end simulations of system architectures and system elements. Will provide technical interfaces between design activities, program management, and various levels of the customer's technical and programmatic organizations. Participate in planning activities such as development of IMP/IMS. Will provide technical leadership and expertise for new business activities such as proposals and assist in determining new direction for technology. Will review and participate in design reviews and identify new opportunities/applications for the Company's products and capabilities. Will be directing and mentoring senior technologists and engineers assigned to proposals, Enterprise Campaigns, and major development efforts.

The Senior Architect will understand and be able to apply various government frameworks, including Enterprise Architecture, DoDAF, TOGAF, Zachman Framework, and ATAM. The Senior Architect will also be able to interact with customers and derive program context, and create and present architectures that solve the customer's mission. This position will also be an active member of Architecture Review Boards at the Fort Wayne, NCS, and Raytheon level.

REQUIRED SKILLS



Education & Experience Span. BS required, MS preferred.

A minimum of 15 years of engineering experience.

Experience Areas. Demonstrated expertise as systems design engineer/architect and capability of leading diverse technical teams. Strategic mind set capable of resolving complex problems. Multi-disciplined in design and analysis of large-scale software systems with system integration experience. C2 Architecture Design and Implementation. Leadership of Engineering teams responsible for researching, planning, designing, integrating, and verifying Engineering development tasks and activities. Significant experience in C2 systems Design and Implementation and Business Development experience is highly desired.

Skill Areas. Technical leadership experience with engineers and scientists. IPT leadership and/or line engineering management experience; 15+ years engineering experience; demonstrated experience on C2 systems; can provide technical insight, knowledge and experience across a wide range of C2 systems programs. This position requires the ability to lead and coordinate both programs and pursuits, identifying both technical and cost discriminators and formulating sound strategies to achieve desired results.
