Senior Network Engineer - Enterprise Experience - Corp. Headquarters

Essential Job Functions:

 

Implement and provide global level three support for LAN/WAN architectures that include hardware and software methodologies.  Architectures include local infrastructures, company wide remote locations, and worldwide processing nodes consisting mainly of Cisco routers and Ethernet switching platforms. Coordinates network system planning, installing, monitoring, testing and servicing.  Reviews reports on LAN/WAN performance to ensure service level agreements are met position will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer.

 

Required Skills and Competencies:

 

BA/BS degree in engineering, computer science, or related field or equivalent education and experience.Five years global network engineering experience involving the design, level three network break/fix support, and analysis of networks and systems.Solid working knowledge of routing principles and protocols, including substantive hands-on experience configuring routers and capacity planning. In depth understanding of data communications protocol and LAN/WAN technologies including OSPF, RIP, EIGRP, ATM, Ethernet, Layer 2, Switching, Routers, Frame Relay, OC3 and SONET. Detailed knowledge of WAN/LAN protocols. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to identify and resolve complex network problems using network management tools and methodologies. Ability to lead and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to train associates.Knowledge of technical writing. Working knowledge of layer 2 switch technology, specifically experiences with frame relay and ATM principles, protocols, and configuration thereof.  Knowledge of X.25, SNA, BSC, and xDSL protocols along with STUN and DLSW.
