Senior Oracle DBA

Responsible for designing, planning, coordinating, and administering Oracle databases, in production and development environments.

Responsibilities:
Monitoring disk space, performance and data loading applications
Configuration of Oracle database Initialization parameters
Co-ordinate with the developer team to develop and tune SQL queries and stored procedures
Plan, configure and maintain database, instance and application recovery procedures
Responsible for trouble shooting the performance issues on the application backend & databases
Responsible for loading data to databases from files
Responsible for writing database-monitoring scripts
Provide day-to-day (24/7) support for users & application databases
Good coding practices using SQL, PL/SQL, Unix shell scripts, and PERL.
Managing remote databases
Participate in schema designs and database development activities
Experimenting with new features
Migrating/upgrading databases and applying patches

Lead a team of off-shore resources to manage 24/7 operations

To be available for production escalations on 24/7 basis

Required Skills:
Must have Oracle 8i/9i/10g experience.

Must have Informix experience.

Must have Microsoft SQL Server experience.
Production database work experience with larger than 400+ GB in size.
Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Must have 3+ years of coding experience in SQL, PL/SQL, and Unix Shell Scripting.
Experience with Oracle Partitioning, RMAN, Statspack, SQL*Loader.

Experience with Tivoli Storage Manager Database Agent (Required).

Experience with Veritas Cluster Software (Required availability).
Demonstrated proficiency of troubleshooting techniques and detail-oriented problem diagnosis.
Ability to analyze and resolve data issues.
Experience in high-volume database systems.
Experience in deploying database changes for new database releases with minimal downtime.
Knowledge of Unix Operating system (Solaris) administration.
Approximately 5-8 years of experience.
B.S. in Computer Science or related area of study.
Certification in OCP is a plus.
Work with minimal guidance as individual and team player.
