Senior Systems Administrator - Unix/WebLogic (Mon.-Thurs. 6am - 4pm)

The Edward Jones Information Systems (IS) division is seeking an individual for a Senior Systems Administrator - Unix/WebLogic position that will be responsible for the monitoring and troubleshooting of applications, hardware, J2EE Web Infrastructure, and other web systems in the Edward Jones environment.

Responsibilities:
-Independently design, mentor, assemble, configure, install, maintain and performance tune complex infrastructure components associated to the specific IS department.
-Manage software deployments and support for WebLogic and other Web/J2EE infrastructure products.
-Provide guidance and training to less experienced administrators.
-Provide first-level support for assigned systems, including rotating assignment to provide 24x7 on-call coverage and monitoring system logs and messages.
-Develop, package, test, document and implement quality infrastructure solutions.
-Debug and correct internal and external infrastructure problems.
-Provide estimates for assigned deliverables as directed by leader.
-Perform basic programming/scripting/packaging functions.
-Provide system performance, tuning, internals and root cause determination.
-Assist in developing technical requirements and interoperability of systems.
-Follow system development lifecycle methodology.

Qualified applicants will have:
-Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in information systems.
-Five or more years of experience in systems administration, preferably Sun Unix.
-Experience with Unix scripting and WebLogic, J2EE application servers.
-J2EE vendor product administration or software development experience on a UNIX platform.
-Experience with Windows operating systems is preferred.
-Experience with HTML and JavaScript is preferred.
-Detailed knowledge of hardware, operating systems and network technologies.
-Detailed knowledge of software installation and implementation-planning cycles.
-Strong background using scripting languages and tools.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Excellent organizational and time management skills.
-Ability to work in a team environment and/or as an individual contributor, as required.
