Senior Technology and Systems Engineer

For over 12 years our professional services firm has provided superior IT consulting services to small and mid-sized clients in industries such as biotechnology, advertising, venture capital, and architecture.  We?re currently seeking a full-time Senior Technology and Systems Engineer for our Charlestown office. 

 

Job Description:

This position will work with our talented networking team in providing premier consulting services and solutions to our clients.  The position involves traveling to client sites within the Greater Boston region.  Participation in proposal content, product research and sales meetings with prospective clients may be required. 

 

Responsibilities:  Provides clients with various technical services pertaining to networks, workstations, remote computing, communications, and Internet solutions Proactively provide technology recommendations and solutions to clients Properly identify challenges, recommend and implement solutionsManage and execute projects

 

Required Skills/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

MCSA 2003 certification is required. MSCE 2003 is preferred. Sonicwall and/or Cisco certifications strongly preferred.

Prior technology consulting a must

4+ years experience with the design, implementation and maintenance of network infrastructures

Comprehensive understanding of operating platforms, connectivity, security and information storage

Must be strong in Windows 2000, XP and 2003, both server and desktop.

Strong knowledge of email (Exchange, Outlook),Active Directory and DNS

Must possess strong knowledge of technology security including Sonicwall and Cisco

Must understand domains, TCP/IP, VPN?s and firewalls

Working understanding of Blackberry, Palm, etc. 

Knowledge of Macintosh, Linux, Unix and Routers a plus

Experience in troubleshooting and project management skills 

Proven communication and organizational skills required

Must have ability to communicate at all levels within an organization

Candidates must have an ability to work in a variety of environments, have excellent follow-up skills, provide detailed documentation, and be able to work effectively and independently
