Solaris Systems Administrator
Field Service Engineer responsible for providing system support, including Sun hardware, OS software, software applications, and networking to customers and field personnel on-site. Provide a high level of customer satisfaction through the effective delivery of technical support and service programs.
This position typically requires a degree in Computer Science or the equivalent experience. This position requires a familiarity with Solaris. Solaris System Administration Certification will be required if not currently certified. Formal training on Sun hardware and software is preferred to include SM210B: Desktop Systems Maintenance and SM240: Ultra Enterprise Server Maintenance.
The engineer will be required to have a minimum of 1-2 years of hardware experience with Sun hardware and software. Must have strong hardware skills.. This position will require account management skills and experience. The engineer must have an understanding of Solaris and the ability to install, administer, troubleshoot, and manage systems in a client/server environment. The engineer must possess knowledge and experience servicing computer hardware, peripheral equipment and network products in a high availability enterprise.
Candidate must possess or be able to attain a TS/SCI/CI Poly clearance or above.
