Description The Specialist Network Engineering (Global Talent Sourcing)leads projects associated with the planning, technical design, implementation, and network administration of Ernst & Young's wide area, local area, or remote access s networks. This professional participates in the installation and maintenance of all hardware and software-based systems.

Responsibilities

* Plan and evaluate complex existing network systems and make recommendations for resources required to maintain and/or expand service levels.
* Provide highly skilled technical assistance in network planning, engineering, operations, and architecture.
* Develop technical standards, procedures, and interface applications. Identify and evaluate new products, and provide resolutions for network problems.
* Participate in the administration of the firm's networks, including monitoring, maintenance, fault detection, problem solving, and acceptance testing of such networks.
* Assist in network risk analysis, costing, modeling, and backup administration functions.
* Develop utilization and statistical reports regarding network usage.
* Interface with vendors to identify and purchase hardware and software.
* Serve as a lead for network engineers.

Business Need:

The position will lead the data and voice network connectivity effort for the India Resourcing Initiative. This includes project coordination and management, planning, technical design, implementation and infrastructure optimization activities.

As part of this project, this individual will identify infrastructure design alternatives and trade-offs, develop cost models, interface with global Telecommunications carriers, prepare management presentations and facilitate project coordination & information sharing with the various business sponsors and stake holders.

This professional will also assist in formulating the network convergence strategy for this facility as part of the voice, video and data network design, including Vo/IP and call center technologies capable of satisfying the business needs.

Qualifications

The incumbent of this position must have:

Education:
- a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience

Experience:
- approximately 5-7 years of experience in telecommunication networks

* Strong articulation, written and presentation skills are essential as well as the ability to effectively interface with business and technology leaders

* The candidate must posses an advanced level of expertise in WAN, LAN and voice (Vo/IP) architectural design and problem resolution methodologies.

* Strong understanding of application performance across varying network topologies, bandwidths and latency considerations indicative of a global environment.

* Working knowledge of ATM, MPLS, Frame Relay, VPN, routing protocols, voice, Vo/IP and Call Center technologies
