Sr Database Technologist II

Perform Oracle Applications Database Administrator (DBA) duties on the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) Geospatial Information Database Integration (GIDI) production systems. As an Oracle DBA, you will be responsible for implementation and maintenance activities for Oracle Applications, utilizing the Oracle Release 9i Business suite, and upgrading to the Oracle 10g Business suite.



Position responsibilities include the following:

? Oracle Performance Tuning

Sizing the Buffer Cache and other SGA components

? Develop custom SQL scripts for optimum performance

? Optimize Table space usage

? Redo Log file configuration

? Perform routine backup and recovery tasks

? Coordinate and perform data extracts

? Perform database account management

? Support Oracle systems integration

? Perform Oracle Network Resolution

? Create and update system and procedural documentation
- Facilitate customer discussions and assessments of hardware, software and network requirements

Required Skills:
- Oracle Enterprise Management
- Configuration and Setup
- Oracle Repository
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to develop and document workarounds while awaiting permanent fixes.

Desired Skills:
- Maintain the Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) Environment
- Oracle Spatial Concepts and GIS products
- Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) experience
- Knowledge of NGA organization, mission, programs, and Mission Partners

Required Education (including Major): BS in a technical field (software, systems, database, IT, etc.)



TS/SCI clearance with current SSBI required (no exceptions!).
