Sr. Eng Tech (PCB Test Engineering)

 

Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, SMT rework and assembly of prototype electronic boards and systems, electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry or specialized test equipment. Install and configure PC and Juniper router OS/FreeBSD. Support individual engineers to perform preliminary/final DVT. Applications may include analog, digital and logic systems. Works from schematics, diagrams, written, and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions. Uses test, development or diagnostic equipment including but not limited to such equipment as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators and specialized test apparatus. 



Skills:   AS in Electronics or equivalent required. Solid technical skills in the area of system level troubleshooting. Ability to work under high stress situations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and good spreadsheet and word processing knowledge. 5 or more years of relevant electronics industry experience, including at least 3 years in engineering development. Experience troubleshooting SMT and BGA electronic assemblies and familiarity with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, traffic generators and other standard lab equipment. Requires the ability to work with the engineering staff performing DVT and documenting the testing on all new and follow-on projects. Must be able to work on multiple assignments simultaneously, balancing workload and priority to maximize project completion timeliness. Must understand schematics and complicated test diagnostics. Will require network administration knowledge to include installation and usage of various routers, switches and hubs. May also perform light system administration duties on Unix, Solaris, MS Windows and FreeBSD systems. Practiced SMT rework skills a plus.
