Sr Network Architect

Amazon.com is looking for a Senior Network Engineer/Architect to join our core network engineering team in designing and implementing our global IP network.

 

At a minimum, potential candidates should have the following:5+ years experience designing, implementing, and operating large, mission-critical network installations Excellent IP networking fundamentalsIn depth knowledge of and experience with major internet routing protocolsExcellent network design and analysis fundamentalsA strong architectural portfolioGood knowledge of/background in router internalsSignificant experience designing and/or analyzing distributed systemsStrong Unix skillsScripting/Programming background a plusExcellent communication skills



Candidates should have had significant past experience with and expertise in most of the following:

 

Protocols and technologies:

 

WDM, T1, SONET, 802.11, STP, IP, TCP (internals), BGP, OSPF, HSRP, PIMv2, IGMP, LDP, MPLS, STP, IPSEC, netflow, DNS, HTTP, others.

 

Operations:
Load balancer configuration, operation and troubleshooting Traffic Engineering using BGP Link State IGPs Routing architecture design and analysis Router architecture analysis and testing Experience with mission critical multicast systems at L2 and L3 Large scale VPN network design and maintenance Secure network design, Firewall architecture and configuration Large scale secure wireless network design and implementation Traffic analysis and capacity planning Peering and transit relationship management College degree and/or CCIE preferred
