Sr. Network/Datacomm Analyst (A/V-VTC)
GENERAL FUNCTION:

Using discretion and independent judgment, employee will provide Audio Visual (A/V) and/or Video Teleconferencing (VTC) operations and maintenance support duties in accordance with the requirements of the contract Performance Work Statement. Work will be performed in the Unclassified and/or Classified network environment as required.
? Must possess an active DoD ?TOP SECRET? security clearance.
? Will provide courteous customer service to the end-user community all times, either in person or over the phone.
? Will plan, coordinate, schedule customer requirements, and operate equipment in the Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Studio, the General (Customer) Conference Room; and the Commanding General?s (CG) Conference Suite, to include providing hands-on, user training in using the remotes/wireless keyboard.
? Will provide operation, support, maintenance and troubleshooting of the following equipment:
? CODEC (Tandberg 6000)
? AP800 Audio Conferencing System
? AP 10 Telephone Interface
? Hardcopy Printers and Single-Chip Cameras
? Graphics Cameras (ELMO500, and other related VTC equipment.
? Will proactively monitor Audio Visual and Video Teleconferencing Software and Equipment operations and take corrective action to prevent outages or failures. This includes all the above listed equipment and any accessories (i.e., laptop computers & peripherals).
? Will perform daily & weekly monitoring of remote devices (e.g. keyboard/hand-held remote) in the VTC Studio; the Commanding General?s (CG) Conference Suite; the General (Customer) Conference Room.
? Will monitor scheduled use of the General (Customer) Conference Room for AV support. Will ensure set-up and/or operation of Audio Video equipment and corresponding components (e.g. connectivity, laptop use, wireless keyboard/remote).
? Will schedule and/or oversee regular maintenance of Audio Video and/or VTC equipment in the VTC Studio; the General (Customer) Conference Room; and the Commanding General?s (CG) Conference Suite.
? Ensure readiness of secure systems (i.e., STEs, secure Fax, secure VTC, IWS, crypto programs)
? Monitor and ensure compliance with electronic and physical security procedures and standards while using AV and/or VTC equipment.
? Setup, configure, test, and administer Video Teleconferencing (VTC) hardware and software.
? Respond to issues on tickets opened by the Help Desk (Tiers 1/2/3) within two hours.
? Assist Tier I/II technicians when required to troubleshoot end user issues.
? Direct and train users in the operation of Audio Visual and Video Teleconferencing Software and Equipment.
? Maintain continuous liaison with users and project staff to identify unique and/or common difficulties and prepare plans for their resolution.
? Read, understand and comply with most recent Contract/Task Order Statement of Work and Contract Deliverables. The Statement of Work may include other task requirements not included in this position description.
? Submit Contract Deliverables (CDRL) to the PM within specified contract guidelines.
? Establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with co-workers, contractor personnel and customers.
? Follow policies and procedures as described in corporate manuals and directives.
? Attend work each day during scheduled work hours unless on approved time off.
? Perform occasional travel to contractor and customer sites, as required (see WORKING CONDITIONS below).
? Work flexible hours, including occasional overtime.
? Carry out other duties as may be assigned or requested.
WORKING CONDITIONS
? Occasional travel within CONUS is required.
? Work is performed indoors with some potential risks to safety and health hazards related to electronics and/or electrical equipment.
? May be required to work outdoors under adverse working conditions; i.e., inclement weather (heat, rain, sleet, snow).
? May be required to work outdoors on piers, aboard ships/barges/vessels, in warehouses and/or trailers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certifications/Experience/Skills:
? Possess a Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business.
? Four (4) years of progressively more responsible experience in providing systems management/administration support duties as listed above under the heading ?General Functions?.
? If no degree, six (6) years of specific experience in performing the systems management/administration support duties as listed above under the heading ?General Functions?
? Possess documented Training Certificates of Completion for the DISN Video Services [DVS] Courses, Level One and Level Two.
? Extensive experience in Audio Visual and Video Teleconferencing operations and maintenance.
? Must have relevant applicable experience as related to the General Functions listed in this position description.
? Must be experienced with personal computers and software applications used at client sites (MS Office Professional including MS Project 2000/2003, and MS Outlook 2003).
? Must possess strong analytical skills and effective interpersonal and communication skills to interact with a variety of users having different levels of computer expertise.
? Skill in identifying and monitoring potential operational malfunctions and programming errors.
? Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other technical staff, customers, and users.
? Ability to respond quickly and effectively to uncertainty and constant changes in technology.
Physical Skills And Abilities:
? Depending on the assignment may require ordinary, ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations.
? Requires the ability to manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds.
? Requires good hand-eye coordination; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp and use a keyboard and mouse.
? Requires visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information.
