Sr. Systems Architect

The primary role of the Systems Architect is to drive revenue by providing technical leadership in the design of the system architecture of clusters and to provide technical management in the delivery of large complex clusters. A Systems Architect is a very mature technologist that has broad experience in multiple areas of discipline, such as OS, kernels, File Systems, Storage and Networking. The right candidate does not necessarily have deep experience in all areas, but must have deep experience in one or some of these areas.
Knowledge of all levels of a cluster, from the processor to interconnect.
In depth knowledge & experience with current processors from Intel and AMD.
Strong understanding of PC architecture especially memory and I/O buses.
Ability to understand/analyze/optimize HPC codes and benchmarks
Responsible for researching and architecting HPC clusters for prospective sales and competitive response.
Responsible that the architecture of the system meets the performance requirements of the customer.
Provide technical direction to the entire organization, through both direct tasking and technical advising.
Aid proposal team in responding to RFP?s by being the technical advisor responsible for the architecture of the proposed system.
Be the technical manager for custom systems from initial planning through the final acceptance of the system.
Review technical solution on every bid and follow that system from conception to acceptance.
Provide post-sales technical expertise related to performance guarantees made as a result of benchmark commitments
Lead collaboration with team members, field sales engineers, and foster a transfer of knowledge from corporate to field personnel.
Must be able to compile, test, debug and optimize benchmarks; interpret results and make architecture decisions based on the results.
Define the software required to meet customer specifications: OS, compilers, debuggers, file systems
Must have expertise in the Linux OS as well as the various compilers and options.
Strong understanding of C, with basic C++ and Fortran.
Basic knowledge of a scripting language such as BASH or PERL

BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related specialization
10+ years of similar or related professional experience, preferably as a benchmark or systems engineer in the parallel systems and/or HPC computing environments, Linux, clusters, or related technologies
Must be a US citizen. Prior Security Clearance highly desired
