Sr. Systems Programmer Analyst

Broad Function
Develop new programs and systems as assigned and correct program problems as required. Ability to program in a higher level programming language with knowledge of databases including flat files, DB2, and Lotus Notes. Work with users to understand program requirements and diagnose program problems.

Provide instructions to other programmer analysts on technical requirements and review their tasks to ensure compliance and adherence to user requirements. Ability to develop use cases based on input from management and the user community and receive sign off on requirements. Prior experience working with complex application programs.

Capable of leading junior programmers on the development of specifications, walkthroughs, and testing of applications. Conduct monthly Coach to Win sessions with assigned staff and provide career and technical direction as required.

Responsible For:
? Develop uses cases and program specifications
? Write new modules and components
? Assist in design of new applications
? Develop interfaces to existing applications and databases
? Maintain and enhance existing applications
? Back up files/systems/programs
? Review and update use cases with the affected users/departments and receive sign off
? Knowledge of systems methodology including process and data flow through each
system
? Problem determination and resolution
? System maintenance
? Business and user requirements definitions
? Document new and existing system operations
? Ability to develop new screen and report designs
? Capable of solving problems called in via the Help Desk

Experience:
? Minimum 3 years work experience as a programmer working in Java
? Experience working with large DB2

? Experience working with large application programs
? JD Edwards application experience preferred
? Working experience with WebSphere Application Server version 4 or higher and/or other Java Application  Server

Education:
? High school graduate
? College degree in computer science or business preferred

Qualification Requirements:
? Proficient typing skills
? Ability to document systems internally through help text and external operations documentation
? Experience programming in Java
? Experience with system development methodology including design, testing, and implementation
? Ability to work with relational databases and their utilities
? Experience with personal computers, servers, and iSeries (AS400) operating systems
