REQUIRED SKILLS:

Education/Experience:

BA/BS in relevant field and/or 5+ years experience

MCSE desired

Excellent written and spoken English skills

Excellent interpersonal skills

Proficiency in use of common enterprise software, such as office suites, email applications, et cetera

Proficiency in Setup and Administration of the following Microsoft products:

Windows XP Professional in an ActiveDirectory network

Windows Server2003

Office2003

ActiveDirectory

Exchange Server2003

SQL Server2003

Strong "safe computing" habits

Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software faults in PCs, Servers and Peripherals

Proficiency in assembly and repair of PC hardware

Principle Tasks:

Provide deskside and telephone support for enterprise users, incuding:

Troubleshooting and remediating PC software and hardware issues

Installing, configuring and maintaining software on users' PCs

Maintaining system backups

Troubleshooting and remediating VoIP software, hardware and connectivity issues

Troubleshooting and remediating Server issues

Troubleshooting and remediating LAN and WAN issues

Administer Server systems, including:

Microsoft Windows Server2003

MA ActiveDirectory

MS Internet Information Server v6.X

MS SQL Server

MS Exchange Server2003

GNU/Linux (Gentoo, Debian, WhiteBox EL)

Apache

MySQL

php Web Applications

Asterisk PBX

SSH/SFTP/TFTP

Develop and/or maintain documentation, incuding:

Equipment inventories

System configurations

System maintenance histories

Software licensing

Procure, Configure and Deploy:

Desktop, portable and server computer systems and peripherals, primarily using Microsoft products

Networking equipment and cabling

VoIP telephones

 

Candidate must be capable of communicating effectively both upstream and downstream in the IT and Management realms. Company runs a combination of Microsoft Windows (end-user desktops and supporting servers, some production servers) and GNU/Linux (most production servers and developer workstations) systems. Candidate will be primarily providing MS Windows Server administration and deskside support for MS Windows users making use of desktop applications (including MS Office) as well as Web applications, but will be required to provide support on GNU/Linux systems and MS Windows servers from time to time. Candidate must have reliable transportation and be available for emergency and/or "on-call" situations.
