System Administrator - Windows Server

The Information Systems division of Edward Jones currently has an opening for a System Administrator.

Responsible for applying business and technical knowledge to ensure availability of Edward Jones' Home Office Windows Server computing systems, and to provide quality solutions for business and enterprise infrastructure needs. A System Administrator will be expected to assemble, configure, install, maintain and performance tune infrastructure components specific to the Home Office environment.

Specific Responsibilities:
-Specific understanding of x86 (Intel) hardware and Windows 2000 and 2003 Server operating systems.
-Assist in developing technical requirements and interoperability of systems.
-Develop, package, test, document and implement quality infrastructure within targeted due dates.
-Debug and correct internal and external infrastructure problems.
-Provide estimates for assigned deliverables as directed by leader.
-Provide third-level support for Home Office systems, including rotating assignment to provide 24x7 on-call coverage and monitoring system logs and messages.

Qualified applicants will have:
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field preferred or 2 to 3 years equivalent experience.
-Experience with Windows 2000 and 2003 operating systems - 2 to 3 years preferred.
-A positive attitude.
-The ability to learn quickly in a complex and often fast paced environment.
-The ability to work autonomously with minimal direction as well as work together in a team.
-Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to innovate in a highly automated environment.
-Good written and verbal communication skills in order to write requirements, documentation and test plans.
-Communicate effectively with developers, vendor contacts, leaders, and business associates.
-Perform hardware and operating system troubleshooting and maintenance.
-Perform basic scripting functions.
-Provide system performance tuning, internals and root cause analysis.
-Experience with hardware and software RAID configurations.
