System Support Associate - Danbury

 

MannKind is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of therapeutic products for diseases such as diabetes and cancer. We are currently in Phase 3 clinical trials of our lead product, the Technosphere Insulin System, in the U.S. and Europe, to study its safety and efficacy in the treatment of diabetes. This therapy consists of a proprietary dry powder Technosphere formulation of insulin that is inhaled into the deep lung using our proprietary MedTone inhaler. The inhaler is light, easy to use, and fits in the palm of the patient's hand, which is believed to facilitate patient compliance. We believe that the combination of Technosphere. Insulin's unique performance characteristics, including the rapid transfer of the insulin into the blood. The significantly higher bioavailability, and the convenience and ease of use of the Technosphere. Insulin System may result in the potential to change the way diabetes is treated. In particular, the Technosphere. Insulin System may be the only product under development with a pharmacokinetic profile that approximates the natural first-phase insulin release spike normally seen in healthy individuals following the beginning of a meal.

 

Primary Responsibilities Include:

 

?  Providing general technical support for computer hardware, operating systems, telephony systems, and the corporate network

?  Providing PC users with technical assistance, troubleshooting support, and general systems guidance

?  Ordering supplies from approved vendors

?  Performing routine tasks to maintain computer equipment and their peripherals

?  Evaluating potential software packages

?  Giving input into evaluation of network performance

?  Managing help desk calls and responds to calls for assistance

?  Participating in troubleshooting hardware problems, network problems and system software problems

?  Participating in the installation of new software and software upgrades

?  Implementing computing environments for system users

?  Performing special projects as assigned by IT management

?  Additional duties may be assigned

 

A Successful Candidate Will Have:

 

?  Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

?  Minimum of 2-4 years experience as a computer professional

?  Minimum of 1 year experience as a PC support technician, with experience in Windows 2000/2003, Windows XP, and the Microsoft Office Suite

?  Formal training in Microsoft operating systems support and the Office Suite

?  Excellent problem solving skills

?  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

?  Ability to work effectively under pressure
