Technical Resource Engineer

Responsible for level III problem solving and handling escalation issues from the MT & Corporate Support departments.  Provide technical mentoring and training to other technicians.

 

Job Responsiblilties

Research, resolve and respond to inquiries and questions received from the Helpdesk department and management.

Provide solutions to unique problems of a moderate to difficult nature.

Suggest, create, track, measure and direct team projects.

Assist in special projects, new product releases, user acceptance testing and the implementation of end user system modifications.

Effectively develop and convey technical information in writing and verbally including detailed documentation.

Establish implement, and direct planned upgrades, maintenance and emergency operations of a remote desktop environment.

Ability to review technicians? service requests for technical accuracy and proper resolution documentation.

Ensures prompt, accurate status and feedback to end users and management.

Create work instructions and review procedures to maximize the customer experience while reducing operating costs.

Administer tools and provide services and expertise that enable the Help Desk to efficiently manage a large population of home based employees via Altiris or other methods.


Experience/ Education

3 or more years experience in Technical Support

At least one of MCSE, A+, Network+, MCP preferred. 

Experienced Altiris CMS1 admin a plus

 

Skills

Requires a thorough knowledge of the workstation environment lifecycle including hardware and software from selection, image creation, management and recovery.  Requires an in-depth knowledge of workstation environment, operating system, and hardware configurations. Remote control utilities, MS Office apps, IE, and Windows applications required. Must have an in-depth understanding of system hardware and peripherals, modems, hard drives, CD-ROM, sound cards, video cards and monitors. Must have strong diagnostic and problem solving skills, and a strong dedication to quality customer service. Must have an in depth knowledge of Spheris applications and software systems. Must have good understanding of networking fundamentals.  Altiris, Ghost, NS & DS knowledge preferred.
