Unix/Linux Systems Admin

Use existing tools to identify development engineers not making use of the latest technology, and encouraging them to do so. Getting development engineers to use the tools will require some investigation into their shell initialization scripts or software build scripts, some debugging, and some handholding until they no longer have any outstanding issues. Position will entail tracking issues or questions and updating an FAQ list. You will be monitoring tools and servers to ensure that they are operating properly. This monitoring will be automated in the form of perl, python, or shell scripting.

We are looking for Unix/Linux systems administrators to assist in a Linux rollout for an major enterprise engineering environment. Must have experience working with tools such as TeamBuilder and build avoidance tools such as c-cache. Will be assisting engineers is setting up C-shell and scripts to take advantage of farms instead of doing local builds.

Candidates must be familiar with script and environment debugging for a majority of the common UNIX / LINUX shells (bash, sh, csh, tcsh, ksh) as well as being familiar with programming in the Perl scripting language. Must be good at communicating with engineers from a variety of cultures, and at engaging in an upbeat friendly manner. Must have several years of shell scripting and debugging experience (a basic proficiency test must be passed)
