Unix System Administrator

We are looking for a Unix Systems Administrator

1. Installs, configures, administers, tunes and optimizes complex server operating systems (UNIX) to achieve high availability and performance.
2. Installs, configures, administers, tunes and optimizes the system-level software packages (application servers, web servers, etc.).
3. Monitors and adjusts the system backup procedures to ensure that the corporation?s critical data is recoverable.
4. Installs, configures, administers, tunes and optimizes Storage Area Networks in order to achieve the corporation?s application availability and performance goals.
5. Provides planning, coordination and technical assistance to those involved with changing system elements or operational procedures in order to achieve maximum system availability.











Skills/Competencies

1. Ability to install and maintain server operating systems (UNIX) and supporting software.
2. Knowledge of operating system commands and utilities that may be used to resolve problems or establish a configuration modification.
3. Knowledge of client-server applications and inter-system communications.
4. Knowledge of TCP/IP communication protocols.
5. Knowledge of system support or application languages that may be used to resolve given requirements.
