APPLICATION DEVELOPER

TransCore is looking for an Application Developer in Atlanta, Georgia.

 JobDescription: Participate in all aspects of the software development process including application design, coding, testing, and deployment as part of a project team. Adhere to standards and develop software in a multi-tiered environment. Provide time estimates for completion of project tasks. Generate and modify detailed functional and technical documentation. Develop test plans from system requirements and design. Unit, component test and debug against project test plans. Support production systems and expeditiously resolving related issues. Participate in phone and pager duties to provide 24x7 hour support. Occasionally travel, work night and weekend hours to support production schedules. RequiredSkills: Must possess a minimum of 5 years experience in software design and development. Strong working knowledge with Visual Basic, Crystal Reports, and Microsoft.Net is required. Experience with Oracle Database is desired. Must possess knowledge and understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle. Database Normalization and design, version control, formalized testing and debugging techniques and change management. Must have an understanding and working knowledge of the following technologies: DTS, BCP, ADO, COM IIS and ASP. MS SQL Server experience is required. Experience developing for a Citrix environment and working with grid and list custom controls is a plus. DesiredSkills: Business knowledge related to inventory management and railcar repair application is not required, but a plus. Education: Candidate must hold a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent field of study.
