DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining complex or moderately complex serverbased data warehouse (DW) systems and sub-systems serving the entire UCSD campus.
Duties include giving direction and assistance to other personnel on assigned projects, assisting campus departments with their DW-based information needs, providing presentation and training support and providing close support of production personnel and systems. Development and support is performed on high-end server systems using modern relational and data warehouse DBMS software and with modern CASE tools in the networked PC environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Detailed technical knowledge and experience with DB2UDB server in a UNIX environment (e.g. SUN) and relational database query techniques (SQL).
* Substantial technical knowledge and experience with Client/Server application development tools and Web-based software development techniques (XML, Java, HTML, CGI, Perl, etc.).
* Substantial technical knowledge and experience with current distributed and mainframe technology, including DB2UDB, Informatica and other tools such as scheduling packages.
* Strong technical knowledge and experience in the development, implementation and maintenance of integrated administrative data warehouse-based systems.
* Demonstrated experience in related problem-solving techniques.
* Ability to think independently to design and direct solutions and procedures.
* Ability to plan and organize day-to-day workload on short- and long-term projects.
