Application Administrator
Application Administrator
Montgomery County Public Schools is looking for application administrators to manage the technical aspects of COTS products including the Pinnacle electronic gradebook system. In addition to administering the technical aspects of these products, this individual will also be responsible for maintaining clear and consistent communication between district departments including the central office administration, technology departments, and schools.
Responsibilities include:Working with vendors and MCPS Project Managers Installation, configuration, and testing of third-party applications Ensuring the integration between the applications and other core systems is established and maintained including the Student Information System Server monitoring and maintenance Answer system support calls and e-mail Communicate with Excelsior Software support and implementation personnel Submit grades to SIS at the end of each marking period Installation and testing software updates Create and maintain appropriate technical documentation Provide technical training support
Experience:Minimum of 5 years systems engineering or technical analysis experience with a clear understanding of the systems lifecycle maintenance Experience with current operating systems technologies such as Windows 2003, Windows XP; Novell a plus. Experience with Pinnacle Plus electronic gradebook software a plus. Experience with current Oracle and MS SQL Server RDBMS platforms. Bachelor?s degree or higher in computers, business, or related field.
