Application Architect - COGNOS

Cognos Application Architect?Objective:

?

????????? Play the role of an Application Architect in a dynamic, fast changing environment with the capabilities to rapidly design, develop, implement and document marketing business solutions in a wide range of vertical industries.

?

Duties and Responsibilities:

?

????????? Design, develop and implement reporting, business intelligence and OLAP solutions using Cognos (ReportNet, Powerplay), Business Objects, MicroStrategy and other Business Intelligence (BI) tools.

????????? Design, develop and implement MRM solutions using Affinium Plan and Aprimo MRM.

????????? Work with other architects on specifying rollups and aggregates in the Data Mart data models for various verticals to build efficient Reports and Campaigns.

????????? Perform report/application code reviews.

????????? Perform performance tuning of reports, models, catalogs and work with DBA?s to tackle any performance related issues with applications.

????????? Assist Business Analysts as needed to get report and application signoff.

????????? Set standards, conventions and best practices for application development with designated tools.

????????? Design, develop and deliver well-defined demos and prototypes in the various verticals that will help in sales efforts.

Requirements:

?

????????? 7+ years experience in Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing and Data Modeling.

????????? 5+ years of recent experience with Reporting tools including Cognos (ReportNet, Powerplay etc.), Business Objects, MicroStrategy etc.

????????? BS or equivalent in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.

????????? Strong Relational Database (Oracle 10G, 9i), Microsoft SQL Server skills.

????????? Strong SQL, PL/SQL, T/SQL and XML skills.

????????? Strong business analyst-type skills in CRM and Database Marketing or related areas.

????????? Proven track record of delivering high quality business application solutions that can be supported.

????????? Hands on technical experience on a variety of hardware/OS platforms including Wintel, Lintel and/or UNIX (Solaris, AIX, HP-UX etc.).

????????? Strong verbal and written communication skills.

????????? Strong time management and multitasking skills to effectively meet deadlines under time-to-market pressure.
