Application DBA

Application DBA Description: Volt is seeking an Application DBA for a direct hire position in Austin, TX area.

Key responsibilities would be performing application support of non-production, and production system environments. Provide technical support for critical applications. Demonstrate superior troubleshooting capability, and communicate effectively with business users, system administrators, and software developers.





Requirements:
Candidates must have:

* Experience in application administration/ technical support.

* Experience working with multi-tier application systems.

* Experience with relational database maintenance and support.

* Experience using Sun Solaris, Windows NT - 2003 Server, Oracle 9X, J2EE applications and tools

* Proven problem-solving skills

* Proven ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization

* Troubleshooting skills with Internetworking Protocols

* Functional knowledge of SQL, DML, and DDL

* Database performance & SQL tuning

* Practical experience with relational DB schemas and stored procedures.


Preferred Requirements:

* Experience developing or supporting IT business applications

* Deadlock and contention analysis

* Sun Solaris administration experience.

* Experience with replication, monitoring and cloning tools
