Application Support Level: Senior Application Support / QA Manager

 

Minimum of 3 years of solid experience in software application support.  Minimum of 5 years of some type of IT support.  Minimum of 1 year of QA coordination.  Minimum of 1 year of development exposure in some type of .NET, VB 6.0, SQL Server technology.

 

Description: Serve as a senior application support coordinator and QA manager in a close-knit project team of an aggressively growing software and IT services company. This person would work closely with the team as both the head support contact with external customers as well as a QA coordinator with internal developers.  This person may also participate in the technical design, development and unit testing efforts for new and existing applications.

 

Candidate will be required to support several large scale applications for multiple customers.  This will require the candidate to gain intimate knowledge of the applications as well as the business processes that the application supports.  Candidate must demonstrate prior experience in a similar role supporting large scale applications.  Candidate will subsequently be required to interact with customers and resolve support issues as well as coordinate upcoming enhancements.

 

The QA portion of the position will require the candidate to take responsibility of testing efforts for new software development and modifications to existing modules.  This will include, but not be limited to, developing test plans, executing test plans, managing others executing test plans, following up with developers on issues, and transitioning development changes to the customer.

 

The development portion of this role will initially be restricted to having some basic ability to troubleshoot code and/or database objects as needed during problem resolution.  The role will not initially include the responsibility of making code modifications.  The technologies that will be leveraged in this portion of the role will be VB.Net, ASP.Net, VB 6.0, and SQL Server.

 

The ideal candidate would also have prior working knowledge of energy trading and marketing applications, financial reporting systems, or accounting systems.  If you have experience in this area, please be sure to outline that experience in your cover letter.

 

Knowledge of IT security best practices and technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows including Active Directory (AD) and related network services (e.g., IIS, DHCP, DNS), techniques for secure computing including digital certificates and PKI is beneficial but not required.
