Applications Programmer

The Applications Programmer is responsible for designing, developing and supporting commercial applications. This developer is expected to maintain and improve their technical skills and proficiency using the resources available for developing and implementing software systems while providing our customers with excellent customer service.

The position requires applying detailed technical knowledge creatively to solve problems by developing and maintaining efficient software systems. This includes managing all phases of a system life cycle: analysis, design, development, and on-going support.

Duties will include helping to support, debug, and enhance client installations. The applications developer is responsible for effectively communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical staff.

Specific duties will include:

* Maintaining existing systems.

* Creating and maintaining system and source code documentation.

* Designing and developing new applications and systems.

* Building knowledge and technical skills related to software development.

* Develop code samples based on existing code libraries.

 

Candidates should have a solid foundation of knowledge in the following:

* Knowledge of programming skills with a grasp of structured programming principles and techniques.

* Ability to plan and prioritize time and tasks in order to identify and meet deadlines.

* Ability to work in fast-paced environment on multiple projects simultaneously.

* Ability to use multiple programming languages and to quickly learn new languages.

 

Required Technical Skills:

A working knowledge of :

o Visual Basic/Scripting and COM based technologies

o .NET Visual Studio / C#

o SQL Server and SQL Query Language

o OOP Design and Development principles
