AMS has a tremendous opportunity for a Applications Software Engineer. The Application Software Engineer will define and implement software projects using AMS' standards for software development and quality assurance standards.  This position will also help specify software procedures such as code review, configuration management, static (lint) and dynamic analysis (profiling), etc.  Suggest algorithms and test their performance as necessary.  This position is responsible for practicing Quality System Manual procedures and complying with its requirements, and carrying out responsibilities as outlined in safety, health and environmental policies. Quality System Procedures (QSPs) that apply to all positions are noted in the AMS Employee Handbook

RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION

 

? Application projects, including but not limited to Physician Programmer systems including subprojects for marketing and clinical (for example, a version for FDA trials that has double blind support).* 

? Test Equipment Software - building the front end, graphical user interface for ATEs and other test equipment, implementing algorithms, etc.* 

? Operating systems and drivers - Physician programmer and all other related software to XP (maybe embedded) and later on, Vista.*

? New functionality - such as databases of logged data, representation and analysis of stored data on the physician programmer systems and ways to present it.*

 

 

EDUCATION

? BA/BS in Computer Science or related field of study

 

EXPERIENCE

? Background in Applications Software in Medical companies is a very big plus. 

? Real-time or low level device driver development is a plus. 

? A plus for having Visual Basic experience. 

? Some background in script processing (perl, bash, awk) is nice to have. 

 

SKILLS

? Knowledge in Microsoft Development studio is a must. 

? A plus for having Visual Basic experience

? Knowledge in Windows OS is a must. 

? Also has to have proven knowledge in Software quality standards and/or guidelines.
