Applications Specialist
Responsible for providing on-site, email- and telephone-based technical support to clients, third-party vendors, and company employees involved in diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging large and complex application systems. Investigates and analyzes system problems. Recommends course of action to resolve problems. Reports design, reliability, and maintenance problems or bugs to Engineering, QA and Product Management teams as appropriate.
Resolves highly complex technical and strategic issues for CheckFree customers.
Works closely with developers to define, evaluate and troubleshoot software functionality.
Develops strong knowledge on current and emerging software solutions and third-party software and hardware products incorporated into CheckFree customer?s solutions.
Documents, updates and closes all support issues in trouble ticket-tracking system in accordance with department procedures and customer service level agreements.
Ideal candidate will be bright, articulate, and capable of demonstrating exceptional customer service skills with a proven systematic and logical problem solving ability.
Above average organizational and writing skills required.
This position requires 20-50% travel. International travel may be required.
Required Skills:
0- 2 years as a Technical Support Specialist.
Strong knowledge of client-server hardware, customer service operations, Microsoft 2000/XP/2003 operating systems, Microsoft SQL relational database management systems, Microsoft IIS, TCP/IP and the Internet. Must be flexible to respond quickly to after-hours issues and to be on-call as needed to travel to customer?s location with as little as 24 hours notice. Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills necessary to work with an integrated team of customers, developers, implementation specialists and quality engineers. Basic understanding financial services, accounting and/or software development industries. Ability to work in a self-directed and independent fashion as well as within a group. Must be able to multi-task and manage multiple issues, contacts, companies, and internal groups.
Education:
Bachelor?s degree required; IT, Computer Science,MIS, or Business Administration a plus. MCP, MCSE, A+ and/or similar certifications preferred.
