Automotive Software Engineer

Individual Duties, Authority and Responsibilities

 

1. Software design and testing using assembler and advanced computer language, for different Microprocessors and controllers with regards to specific development systems.

 

2. Development and planning of technical electronic and software concepts for automotive air heating and cooling and driver control systems that meet customer specifications.

 

3. Design of digital-control concepts within the framework of processing

  software responsibilities.

 

4. Selection and specification of components in coordination with suppliers and other Preh locations, including testing and specification of application limits.

 

5. Introducing design concepts to the customer nationally and internationally and

  general presentations of the products made by Preh.

 

6. Finalizing all documents for calculation, manufacturing and testing of the finished products.  These include specifications, test-concepts, manufacturing instructions, technical terms of delivery.

 

7. Definition of required proving and durability analysis, introduction and

  monitoring the implementation and interpretation of results.

 

8. Knowledge of standards and requirements of vehicular technology as well

  as the overall typical development and test-methods.

 

9. Consideration of the required safety regulations as with Preh development guidelines.MISRA-rules, ANSI-standards, VDE-requirements, SEMCO, DIN, etc. during the product development phase.

 

10. Distribution and support during the acquisition and implementation of new customer projects.

 

11. This position requires project leadership within the parameters of the of the project Management Systems.

 

12. Managing and evaluating of foreign patents as well as testing of internal resolutions to register patents.

 

13. Supervise and manage the software equipment (tools).

 

14. Briefing and training of Preh employees and costumers on our products locally and internationally, with special attention to the customer systems and the specified customer peripheral equipment.

 

Within his frame of his authority, the position holder presides over the deployment of components with regards to the appropriate materials and equipment and will compose descriptions and submits resolutions with regards to purchases of special measuring instruments and development tools.

 

He/she is responsible for software development and the software coordination from all departments.  The following are critical points which require strong emphasis, the up and down compatibility, standardized variations, modular design and new functions.



 

Must perform all duties with responsibility and independently.  These duties require special knowledge and expertise which a generally acquired through a high school education and several years of work experience.





 

Education & Experience

 Training

Minimum High school diploma and/or Vocational Technical school diploma with emphasis on electronics and IT also a completed high school branch of studies in physic or math.

  Work experience

Minimum of three (3) years working experience in software development of electronic equipment preferably with automotive knowledge.

Skilled programming knowledge in assembler and advanced computer language

Skilled in handling development systems

Skilled with regards to the installed hardware system components

Fluent English and German language
