BUILD ENGINEER

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

 

As the ?Build Master? you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and leading the adoption of an automated build and internal release process. You will be required to assess the need for, create and implement scripts to automate the build, packaging and deployment of software products as well as the automation of time consuming, error prone tasks associated with the build, release and deployment cycles.

 

The SCM Engineer will be responsible for coordinating product releases, defining and locking branches, setting labels to guarantee build accuracy, version control of software artifacts, and recreation of build environments and software releases. This position also involves working directly with engineers to troubleshoot and resolve build issues, as well as coordinating with IT to determine SCM needs in the future.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 

?  Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Math, or related area or demonstration of equivalent knowledge.

?  5+ years experience in SCM

?  A proven record of defining, implementing and maintaining SCM best practices

?  Extensive understanding of the software development lifecycle and development methodologies

?  Thorough experience using Perforce and other source control systems

?  Solid understanding of standard build tools such as Make

?  Solid working knowledge of networks, UNIX platforms, and scripting languages (shell, Perl, Python)

?  Familiarity with the use and maintenance of Product Defect Tracking Systems (Bugzilla a plus)

?  Excellent oral and written communication skills

?  Solid experience supporting parallel development environments

?  Experience supporting local and remote engineering teams
