We are a hybrid software, research/development and financial services firm, and highly skilled developers our lifeblood. We trade stock electronically, and with automated systems ATD accounted for approximately 5% of daily trades on the NASDAQ and 2% of daily trades on the NYSE in 2004.

 

We are currently looking for a Back End Web Developer to work with our Database team.

 

Job function (describe a ?typical? day in terms of priorities, accountabilities, supervisory responsibilities, most pressing concerns, etc.):

 

1.  Develop a system to capture and display key business and performance metrics, such as history of real-time P&L, machine utilization, network bandwidth, and customer order traffic.

2.  Document the system

3.  Train ATD personnel to support system in long-term (contract)

4.  Generate reports at requests of executive committee or key internal customers to resolve problems or support research and system improvement.

 

Expected short-term results (specific tasks to be accomplished?3-4 months):

 Become familiar with trading systems and terminologyLearn about 5 most relevant/critical metrics to manage ATD businessDevelop plan for first phase of workEstablish relationships with key internal customers.Design and develop a web page to display metricsPresents work to execute committee and key internal customers and integrates feedback into plans

 

Long term:

 Works with key internal customers to define subsequent phases of the work planDesign web page to present exceptional changes to metricsBuild tools to find correlations and trends in the key metricsGenerates reports and builds automated tools for generating frequent reports or queries Presents work to execute committee and key internal customers and integrates feedback into plansContinually refines plans and processes for each phase of the process

Work with DBA?s to develop tools and reports in response to on-going business demands

 

Expected first year cash compensation (base + bonus):

 

Salary negotiable based on candidate?s level of experience and knowledge.  Performance based bonuses dependent on contribution to organizational initiatives and priorities and ability to meet deadlines and contribute to achieving company goals.

 

Base compensation range of  $65-75K plus bonus

Educational Experience

College degree in Computer Science or related field required; Math background (minor, major or work  experience) Highly desirable.

Minimum one year of full-time related work experience.
