Build/Configuration Engineer

Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Build Engineer is to work with other team members in development, support, and QA to establish and maintain a source code control environment. The Build Engineer will be responsible for maintenance of Perforce server backend under Linux. The Build Engineer ensures that all products are built and released consistently in accordance with established process. The Build Engineer will be responsible for development and maintenance of InstallShield installation packages.

 

Responsibilities:Establishes and maintains a source code control environment for all products and solutions including third party components.Produce patch and service release builds as required by support.Creates a stable and scalable build system, including build scripts, for all development teams.Performs and manages all software builds and releases to QA and Production.Assists in establishing and implementing configuration management (CM) program, policies and procedures.Integrates fixes and product enhancements into the code repositoryVerifies nightly builds.Assists in implementing a method for tracking dependencies across components.Assists in integrating source code control with bug tracking systems.Works with developers to troubleshoot build problems.InstallShield development and maintenance.Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent) required.At least 2+ Experience building/working with applications Previous configuration management experience using CM processes and tools in a heterogeneous development environment preferred Experience with Perforce Admin/Management Familiar with managing Perforce Server on LinuxFamiliar with managing SSH servers on LinuxFamiliar with Linux and Solaris (x86 and Sparc)Familiarity with .Net, MSVC, and Sun Java buildsExperience developing, maintaining, and building installation packages using  InstallShield. Detail oriented with good organizational skills Effective in fast paced environment Collaborative/enjoys working in teams Self starter/motivator Creative and effective problem solving skills Ability to work on/manage multiple tasks concurrently Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
